Take It Away Initiative Typical 0% APR Finance available from £100 to £2,000 for purchase of musical instruments from Northern Drum Centre   We're proud to say we have joined the Take It Away initiative offered by the Arts Council and can now offer customers an interest free finance option for purchasing instruments.

What is the initiative about?

The scheme is aimed at people looking to buy an instrument but who perhaps cant quite afford the instrument that they want. With the help of the Arts Council we can offer interest free finance against a massive range of musical instruments.  The finance can even be taken against second hand or reconditioned instruments.  Some ancillary items such as music stands, stools etc are also eligible for the loan.

How does it work?

The Arts Council work hard to support the arts in all their forms, including music.  In order to support and encourage people to play their own music the Arts Council run the Take It Away initiative to provide interest free finance for the purchase of instruments and supporting equipment.  Loans are available for as little as £100 and up to £2,000 and be used for part or full payment against any instrument. Loans are assessed against a standard credit check, and assuming you are successful then you would need to pay 10% of the price of the loan as a deposit on the day, and then 9 equal installments each month.  If you were looking to take the loan against an item priced £500 you would pay £50 on the day and then 9 further installments of £50.  There are no administration fees or interest for the loan, so all you pay is the cash price of whatever you are purchasing.

Is it available for mail order equipment?

Yes, Take It Away can be used to pay for items whether you are purchasing in the store, or over the phone. If you already know what you want and just want to actually purchase it, then simply call us on 01274 371271 and we will work through the application process with you.  Once the paperwork has been completed, if you are approved for credit, we will post out the forms for you to sign and progress the order for you without you ever having to leave the comfort of your own home.

What requirements are there?

To apply for the loan you have to be willing to have a standard credit check done, for which you need to be:
    •    18 years old at least (If you are younger, a parent or guardian can apply on your behalf)
    •    A permanent resident of the UK
    •    Have a bank account you can make direct debit payments from
